As the founder of Southeast Perinatal Counseling and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my passion lies in supporting women through the emotional, physical, and identity shifts that accompany the perinatal period. I’m deeply committed to helping women feel seen, supported, and empowered as they navigate pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, loss and the many transitions that come with motherhood.

My work is rooted in creating a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and are able to gain practical coping tools for what you are experiencing.

I know that reaching out for help—especially during a season that’s supposed to feel joyful—can feel heavy and uncertain. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Whether you’re grieving a loss, feeling disconnected from yourself, or struggling to find calm amid the demands of motherhood, my role is to walk beside you with care and understanding. Together, we’ll create space to process what you’re carrying, strengthen your sense of self, and move toward healing in a way that feels authentic and sustainable for you.

My Clinical Approach

Using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), attachment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance-based therapy, and compassion-focused therapy to help clients process trauma and strengthen emotional resilience during and after the perinatal period.

I believe this season of life can bring a wide range of emotions—some expected, and others completely unexpected. My role is to support you through all of it without judgment, whether through therapy, doula support, or both, depending on what you need.

I Support Women Through

  • Pregnancy and emotional changes

  • Postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety

  • Fertility challenges and reproductive stress

  • Pregnancy loss and grief

  • Infant hospitalization and NICU-related stress

  • The transition into motherhood and identity shifts

Therapy & Doula Support

I offer both perinatal therapy and doula support to help you feel supported in different ways throughout your journey.

Perinatal Therapy
A space to process emotions, experiences, and transitions related to pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, and loss.

Doula Support
Compassionate emotional, informational, and physical support during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and grounded in your choices and experience.

My Background

I’m clinically licensed to provide therapy services in Georgia and South Carolina, with the founding of this practice grounded in evidence-based approaches.

My specialized training in perinatal mental health includes advanced education through both the Seleni Institute and Postpartum Support International (PSI), with focused study on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, grief, and perinatal loss.

Why I Do This Work

I am passionate about supporting women through the perinatal journey because this season can feel both incredibly meaningful and incredibly overwhelming.

Many women feel pressure to “be okay” during pregnancy and postpartum, even when they are struggling. My goal is to offer a space where you don’t have to carry that alone.

Whether through therapy, doula care, or both, I am here to walk alongside you in whatever way feels most supportive.

Hi, I’m Keisha, Associate Therapist

I’m Keisha Freeman, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) passionate about walking alongside people as they navigate life’s transitions, emotional challenges, and moments of rediscovery. My work centers on helping individuals find stability, healing, and purpose through a process that feels genuine, collaborative, and empowering.

My Work at Southeast Perinatal Counseling

Being part of Southeast Perinatal Counseling, a practice that specializes in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, allows me to support clients through some of life’s most meaningful—and often challenging—transitions. Whether you’re adjusting to pregnancy, postpartum changes, or finding your footing in a new season of identity and connection, my goal is to meet you where you are. Together, we’ll explore what balance and well-being look like for you, build tools that align with your values, and create space for healing and self-compassion along the way.

My Clinical Approach

My clinical approach is holistic and person-centered. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed care to meet clients where they are. Sessions are designed to be conversational and practical, with a focus on understanding patterns, developing emotional insight, and building tools that foster growth and balance.

Who I Support

I’ve worked with individuals from all walks of life experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, and burnout, as well as those simply seeking a deeper sense of fulfillment and peace. My background in education, mental health, and advocacy allows me to support clients through both personal and professional challenges.

What You Can Expect

In our work together, you can expect a supportive and grounded space—one where you’re encouraged to explore freely, gain clarity, and create change that aligns with your values. My goal is to help you not just cope but truly thrive as you move toward the life and wellness you deserve.
